At Prime Refunds, we work hard to maintain a certain level of excellence. Each year we attend tax conventions and lectures, review training materials, and attend webinars. We want to be more knowledgeable to better serve you. This is especially important since the tax laws change so frequently.
We prepare personal and business returns in all 50 states by phone or in person. We can prepare from the comfort of your home or office. No need to travel if you don’t want to. We’re open 7 days a week during tax season.
Our History
We are a family-owned business. Steve Sohmer, the former CEO, began preparing taxes at the age of 15 as an apprentice at his father’s tax office. Steve’s father, Mark Sohmer, was a CPA back when returns were handwritten in pencil, rigorously checked, then photocopied for completion. Samantha Sohmer, Steve’s sister who is now a Co-Owner, would often go in and help photocopy and collate the returns beside her father.
Fast forward to 2010, Steve and his wife Alice decided to take a giant step forward and open their own tax office, Freedom Tax Service, LLC. Their niece, Carla Mae Pardo, and Steve’s sister, Samantha, soon joined the family business.
Freedom Tax Service, LLC expanded in 2019 to create its sister company, Prime Refunds.
